No More Dwelling on the Negative
It has become abundantly clear to me that over the past decade or more society has been heading into a downward spiral of negativity. A place that makes our heart and soul feel heavy with the burden of that dark place which seems to have no hope of better things to come. For our sake, and for our children's, we cannot let this spiral continue. We need to diligently fight to bring our country (and society as a whole) back to a healthy place of positive images and hope for a brighter future.
The media can, and should, play a big role in leading us in the right direction. Currently they dwell on the negative stories and play the events over and over until we are almost numb to what is on the screen. Giving airtime to the wrong people, allowing them to say negative things or show what terrible thing they have done. We need to turn this off to protect our children, so they do not end up believing it is acceptable behavior.
Each network news program does show positive things that are happening in the world, but there are too few. They apparently don't draw as many viewers or so they think. I for one cherish every positive story that is shown as it proves that there are still many good things happening every day. Things that we need to see to perpetuate positive action by others.
There is an abundance of wonderful, amazing people in this world doing good things every day. Most of them do so without looking for recognition. Giving their time, knowledge or finances to help others less fortunate, trying to improve the world around them one person at a time. They have opened their eyes and figured out how to be a positive force in the world, and in turn realized that everything they do comes back to them tenfold.
We all have the capability to do positive things to improve our own little piece of the world. Things that will teach our children how important it is to give, and also that the positive is what should be glamorized. If more of this takes place, and we encourage the media to show this over the bad, then perhaps we can start to move society in the right direction again. The direction that will give people hope for better things to come. We need to ask ourselves if we are a positive source of energy.
Working together we can shift the direction to positive and hopeful. I'm in..... are you?
