2025 - Will This Be the Year?


With the beginning of a New Year right around the corner, I find myself thinking about what it may bring. Will 2025 be the year that is the dawn of a bright new world, or are we going to endure and accept more of the same?

It is almost inconceivable that as members of the human race we are not striving for a better world. We may be from different countries, but the majority of us all want the same things, a good life for our families, prosperity and peace. This can be achieved if we are willing to work together and stand up to those who continuously strive to keep the status quo.

The leaders of the world know that if they continue to bully, spreading hatred and negativity, then their citizens will be divided. These same leaders will use the old “smoke and mirrors” method of hiding what they are doing by putting the spotlight on something else. In the midst of this, all their citizens' energies will be focused on fighting against one another, and they will be blind to the fact that more and more freedoms and rights are being taken away.

Those who are in power have been there too long, and many are too old. There was a time I would say that their years of wisdom were worth a fortune. However, there comes a point when this is not entirely true; that wisdom relates to another time and is no longer relevant for the world we are currently living in. Progress has created a global community, and the old ways will not work. Our leaders need to be in tune with, and accepting of, all of the citizens of the world regardless of what country they are from.

It’s time we pass the baton to the younger generation so they can become the new leaders of the world. Although those who are now senior citizens still care and want to be involved, they will not be around in 20-30 years; they need to begin the process of letting go. The new leaders need to create what will work for their future and their children’s future.

2025 - Will this be the year we join together and unify the world? Will we say enough is enough to the status quo and vote in qualified young leadership in the next election? If we continue to allow things to go down the same old road, I guess we will end up with what we deserve, but is this what we want to leave as our legacy?

Either we make changes and move forward, or struggle to try and make things look as they did so many years ago. The reality is this can never happen given all of the progress and change over the last 50 years, and trying to force it will further deteriorate the world we live in.

My choice is to be a part of creating a bright new world; how about you? In the words of Cat Stevens: "Peace Train is a song I wrote, the message of which continues to breeze thunderously through the hearts of millions of human beings."

On our way to El Puerto De Santa Maria, we made a detour to see the Rock of Gibraltar. If you have ever seen a Prudential Financial advertisement, you will recognize the Rock of Gibraltar which is their logo. Last Dance of Fall

Of all the seasons in New England, fall is my favorite. The warm days and cool nights of early fall breathe life into my soul and energize me. The beauty of mid fall when the leaves put on a breathtaking display of red, orange and gold is a vision unlike any other. Then late fall arrives when the days and nights get cooler, the leaves fall from the trees and November arrives. November, one of my least favorite months (with March being the other); gray days with little sunshine to warm our bones and brighten our spirits. If it were not for Thanksgiving at the end of the month, and Christmas in December, it might be extremely difficult to get through the darkness. What Others Cannot See

Early on one would never know, that memories are fading away. A tiny slip up here and there, normal forgetfulness they say. Time goes by with subtle changes, friends and family do not seem aware. If they only see them now and then, what is missing is not clear. As time passes the ones at home, will notice what others do not. They see more things forgotten, bringing sadness and concern. Many may notice a repeated story, from memories of long ago. Not aware that these old tales, are the ones that remain crystal clear. In time the recent memories, become more elusive as days pass by. Questions that are asked and answered, will be asked again and again. What we can see in our loved one, is what others cannot see. New memories will not remain with them, so, each day will bring something new.
