Choices

No matter how you look at it, much of how our lives turn out depends on the choices we make along the way. Now I do believe in fate to some degree, as there are people and things that come into our lives that cannot be explained any other way. I also believe that we are set on a path from the day we are born; however, along that path there are choices put in front of us and we are given free will to select one. The choices we make either keep us on the direct path, or veer us off into another direction where we need to maneuver the rough waters to get back on our designated path in life.

The choice may have been put there for us to learn a lesson we previously ignored, to experience something we need to understand, or because there is someone who has crossed out path that we need to help. Of course, it could just be put in front of us to see whether we can stay focused on the direction we need to go in, or if we are weak enough to stray.

I have found over the years that the best choices are the ones where we have listened to our inner voice; the voice that is connected to that "gut" feeling. We all have it and if it's telling us it doesn't feel right, it usually isn't. Of course the times we choose to ignore it are most often when we need to learn a lesson.

Each decision made and every misstep off our path does make us wiser. With this wisdom we learn to listen to our inner voice more often when life puts obstacles in our way. Hopefully we learn our lesson and end up staying on our designated path more often.

I, like everyone else, have made choices over the years; some good and some perhaps not so much. I have learned many lessons, and have had many people come in and out of my life. Each one either enhanced my life or I theirs; nobody lost from these encounters, and many have remained an integral part of my inner circle. It's been a great ride so far.

May your inner voice lead you to great life lessons, some amazing people, and always guide you back to your life's path. Enjoy the ride!
