If There Are Other Intelligent Life Forms in the Universe.....
I have thought about the fact that it is entirely possible there are other intelligent life forms in the Universe. We certainly can't rule it out. Having said that, what comes to mind is one question; what must they think of us as they observe? I know if I were in those shoes I would have to question the intelligence and sanity of earthlings. Here is a brief synopsis of some of the things they would see:
1. People walking around with multi-colored hair, spiked hair, or purposely shaved heads.
2. An array of bizarre attire with many dressing in what one could best describe as a costume.
3. Piercings through every conceivable body part and tattoos from head to toe.
4. People never looking at one another - communicating entirely through a cell phone (or watch). We all have seen people who are in a relationship that look at their phones more than each other.
5. Can I say, have you had enough of reality shows? What would they think of the programming that humans find interesting? I can't believe that so many spend time watching the too numerous to count, life of whoever shows.
6. Children who never go outside to play in the fresh air. Faces stuck to a TV, computer or gaming device screen.
7. People treating pets better than they do other people in their life. (Don't get me wrong, I love my cat.)
8. Not taking care of the planet we live on. Using natural resources as if they will last forever.
9. Politicians making a mockery of the election process, looking more like a circus sideshow, and treating each other and voters with disdain.
10. Humans spreading hatred for those who do not look like them, or believe what they do.
I know that there are many amazing things that the majority of us do for each other as humans. And all of the advances in science and technology speak to our vast knowledge and intelligence. But we also know that if those watching are anything like humans.....what will catch their eye first will be the strange and bizarre.
Perhaps we all should act like somebody is watching. It just might make the earth an even better place to live.
