A Real Vacation

Vacations...we all take a vacation from time to time. It can be a long weekend, a week, or maybe even two weeks if we travel to further locations. However, the type of vacation can vary depending on who we are going with.

There is the family vacation with children. This might be camping, renting a cottage at the beach, or maybe even a bigger trip to a place such as Disney. Always a great time, especially for the children, but parents often come home exhausted. We will cherish the memories made with our children, and they will never forget the time spent with them in this fun, family adventure.

It might be a group vacation with friends. These are usually at a rented vacation home where we can share in the costs including food for meals prepared by everyone. These vacations are jam-packed with activities and little relaxation or sleep. At the end we are scurrying to ensure our place of retreat is left clean. Much like being at home.

Perhaps it is a couple's getaway to take time from work, home, and children. In order to afford this, we may need to rent a small cottage or bungalow where we can eat in for the majority of our meals. These destinations allow for us to relax a bit and enjoy some fun activities we usually don't have time for, which is a respite from the day to day. They never seem to be work free or long enough to fully recharge.

And then, there is the real vacation. This is the vacation that we will soon embark upon. You may wonder what this vacation is? Ask any woman, and she will know exactly what a real vacation is. When we go on this type of vacation, we will travel to a destination where we will not have to do anything; every aspect of the trip is planned for us. We will not cook, clean, do laundry, or pick up after anyone. All of our needs will be taken care of by our destination, and for this time we will truly be able to relax. We will take in sights that we have never seen, taste food from other countries, and even laugh, dance and breathe a sigh of relief. We will be the carefree woman we once were in our youth.

And once we return from a real vacation, we will be rejuvenated and ready to face reality again. We all need a real vacation every now and then...I hope that all of you will have this opportunity in your near future.
