Nature's Beauty (Even in the Rain)

It is very easy to see nature's beauty on a bright, sunny day when you can see the sunshine sparkling on the water like thousands of diamonds. When you can feel the warmth of the sun on your skin and hear the birds singing as they fly overhead.

You know the true beauty of nature when you can see it even on a rainy day. The sky may not be so clear and blue but there is much to appreciate if you can just sit quietly, look around you and be still long enough to focus on nature.

There is a steady rain falling and as you look at the trees you can see the rain drops hitting the leaves and rolling off to the ground. Life's water that will nourish the plant life and insects that are buried in the ground (or hiding under the leaf on your tomato plants). Gray clouds in the sky take on their own shape and it is amazing the things you can see in them if you take the time to stop and use your imagination. Maybe you will see a child, an animal, mountains - who knows what your imagination can come up with if you allow it to go on its own path.

The birds scurry over the ground looking for worms that rise up during the rain, and any insects that dare venture out in the weather. They may not stay out for a long time but the birds know the rainy day is a good opportunity for them to feed themselves and their young.

As children we thought nothing of running out into the rain and just letting it fall down on us - not worried at all about getting wet. Stomping through the puddles, laughing and having great fun. Our mothers may not have appreciated all the wet clothes and muddy feet coming into the house, but we did not worry about that.

It is a shame as we go through life and advance into adulthood we forget the simple things that brought so much joy to us as children. Perhaps it is time to let go, use our imagination and just run out into the rain and get wet again. To experience and see nature's beauty even in the rain. Go ahead and give it a try - it may surprise you.
