Sometimes It Doesn't Seem Fair

From the time we are born we begin to learn about life. We learn to talk and walk, gain knowledge as to how things are done, and then how to make our way in the world.  The years go by and before we know it we are busy raising children and working, all the while these life lessons being absorbed, but not always noticed. Unfortunately we are so wrapped up in daily routine that we don't realize the important lessons we are being taught.

And when we finally are done with the child rearing and running on the proverbial treadmill at work, it hits you. The realization of what is truly important, and also the realization of how precious time is. It doesn't seem fair that we wait that long to figure it out.

It's amazing how clear things become when you reach a certain age. To truly be happy you must make your passion your work. If you do this then it will never feel like work. Every moment needs to be cherished - especially those watching your children grow. Never take good health for granted as you never know what will come tomorrow. Make sure you see and do as much as possible because there are many wonderful and amazing things out there. Learn everything that someone is willing to teach you. As I tell my grandchildren - if you do this then you can become whatever you want when you grow up. Never be afraid to make a mistake or fail at something - at least you will now you tried and can move on to succeed.

I have been thinking a lot about these life lessons recently. What I've come to realize is how unfair it seems that we don't know of all of these things early in life. Imagine how different life might be if we had this knowledge and actually put it into practice. I know that I would have spent much more time enjoying life and not worrying so much about the small things. If we live life to the fullest, appreciate all that is right in front of us, and give to the ones we care about and love, then everything will fall into place as it should.

Life is a gift - take time to enjoy every moment.
