Your Life is Full of Possibilities - Jump in and Embrace Them All
Looking at all the programs they keep producing that show the worst of people's lives, and knowing that so many are watching is very disconcerting. The people they display are often offensive, immobile and fixed. To think we would rather look at such negative nonsense, instead of embracing our own life, absolutely puzzles me.
It is so apparent that we have become a society that seems to dwell on the negative. I guess it is very easy to see the things that are not right, and much harder to look deeper to see the many positive possibilities. It takes energy and a positive attitude to move your life in a direction that will bring joy and happiness. None of it comes by just sitting back and expecting it to show up. You need to engage yourself each day and see what could be. Try something that you have not tried - even if it is not a success at least you have tried. The next time you will do something to make it a success, or move on to what can be a success for you. One of the best things I ever heard was in an interview with Sara Blakely, the inventor of Spanx. To summarize: Growing up they were encouraged by their parents to try things new all the time. Each night at the dinner table her father would ask them what they failed at that day. As they told him of their failures, he would tell them that it was great and he was proud of them - at least they had tried. What an amazing message to give someone - to show them their possibilities and build their self-esteem.
I think we all need to try harder to see the positive in our lives each and every day. To do at least one thing that can move us forward instead of stagnating. To encourage our children to try many things even if they do not succeed at it - eventually they will succeed at many things. Embrace each day with a positive attitude and be thankful for all the good things in our lives. This can be contagious to those around us and wouldn't that be a great thing to spread around.
So jump in and embrace all the wonderful, positive possibilities your life has to offer, and bring those around you along. You might be surprised on how good it feels to be engaged in your life instead of just sitting back and looking at it.
